Beit Midrash 1: Stop in to Explore a House of Study!

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Take some time – 15 minutes or a few hours – with Jewish texts that reveal amazing connections between the stories of creation and the stories of the stone tablets at Mt. Sinai.  Experience the Jewish art of close reading as you pore over selections from the Bible and from the layers of commentary, with a study partner or on your own. Adult participants from the Mekom Torah Jewish learning project will be on hand, prepared to work through the texts with you, or to help you get started with guided study questions, or simply to hand you the texts and get out of your way.  At 3:15pm Rabbi Helen Plotkin will lead a session in which Beit Midrash participants will have a chance to discuss their questions, interpretations, and insights
